About the event
Are you ready to start toileting with your toddler? Would you like it to be as easy as possible? Would you like a gentle parenting approach that nurtures a positive body image?
Toddler led toileting is a gentle parenting approach, following your toddler's physiological development. No star charts. No need to 'train' your baby to use a potty or toilet. It is a normal developmental stage.
You have followed baby led feeding, baby led weaning/starting solids, and supported their normal development when walking and talking. This workshop will talk you through how to do the same with starting toileting.
It doesn't have to be difficult. Working with your toddler's development takes away the stress. Let go of pre-conceived ideas of how to train your child to use a potty, and go toddler led.
Understand the signs of readiness for starting toileting. Know how to support and encourage your child, while keeping the pressure off. Understand why letting go of a poo into a toilet or potty can be really difficult, and how you can help. Get tips for dealing with night times, car journeys and when out and about.
Support your child to have a positive body image, to feel confident and happy about this potentially psychologically difficult time for them.
All underpinned by five principles to keep a child centred approach.
This workshop is suitable for all parents with children aged 18 - 36 months.
For parents with children in nappies, and those doing elimination communication who are looking at the next stage.
Workshop will take place on Zoom. A recording will be available, along with a pdf of the slides, and further links and information.
