With the rising rate of caesarean births, there is an increase in people wanting information about their options for birth after a previous caesarean birth. Half day or full day training to support 1-1 clients, and offer VBAC workshops.

About the event
The caesarean birth rate is going up. In 2024/25, in England and Wales, the caesarean rate was 36%, and it is higher now. At my local hospital, most months, the rate is over 50%.
This means that more and more families will be thinking about VBAC (vaginal birth after previous caesarean birth), and the standard information is not great. They are presented with what will happen, not options, not facts.
The VBAC 'rate' is currently 14%. That is largely because most people with a previous caesarean birth now opt for another caesarean birth. This is understandable, given the rise in birth trauma, and the restrictions of standard care of people having vbac. Families don't know what their options are. They don't see a way to make it personal to them. They don't know what the evidence is behind the recommendations, and what they can choose or refuse.
