Cozy Winter

wintering

draw in your roots, relax & reflect

In the darkness of winter is a time to retreat, to slow down, to get cosy, to rest, to turn in, to reflect, and to focus on your inner self, as the year turns.

January is a slow month. After the festivities of Christmas and New Year, we are depleted of energy and time, and can feel drained. New Year resolutions hang heavy with what we think we 'should' be doing, but we don't have a framework, an opportunity to work through what we actually need or want, for ourselves.

I invite you to take a Wintering retreat, in your own time, in your own home. You have given to everyone else, now replenish yourself. Draw in your roots and rest. Hygge yourself.

Winter is beautiful, and I love being out in it, but it is also a good time to slow down, get cosy, and focus on ourselves.

Snuggle yourself up cosy and comfortable, and enjoy deep relaxation exercises to release tension, induce deep rest and restore yourself. Over four sessions, simple exercises will guide you to explore your inner thoughts, and tap into your intuition, allowing you to pause and reflect on where you are; on how you are feeling; to acknowledge, and let go of what you need to, and then turn your mind to what you need for the year ahead.

“Another beautiful, calming time of rest, relaxation and acceptance.”

“Keep spreading the joy -you do it so well.”

“Thank you for holding such a peaceful, non-judgemental space. I felt able to breathe properly for the first time in a very long time.”

The programme will have four steps, based on the Chilled Mama Retreat process: be relaxed, be present, be open, and be you.

  1. Draw in your roots. Rest. Reflect on 2023.

  2. Take stock. Where are you now?

  3. Turning in. Listening to your inner you.

  4. Laying the groundwork. What themes have come up? What is your word or phrase for the year? What do you need?

This process helps you to acknowledge the past year, be in the present, and have clarity about the future.

There are four recorded sessions, one for each of the steps. You will be sent them a week apart. Plus some extra ideas for you to do in between, if you wish.

The tools we'll use include relaxation, guided finger labyrinth, reflection prompts, forest bathing ideas, and meditation/quiet reflection. You will get a pdf workbook to accompany the programme, with space for writing, drawing, scribbling your thoughts.

Draw in your roots

Wintering sessions

All sessions are recorded so you can do them in your own time. There are MP3 recordings of the relaxations too. There is a lovely printable workbook to guide you, and for your notes. You can also purchase an extended printed copy.

Each session will be approximately 45 minutes. I recommend you plan to take a further 15 mins or so to rest and transition after the session, before returning to family life.

Once you sign up you will be able to access the programme via the course portal. The session recordings will be released incrementally throughout January. You can access them till the end of February. The MP3 relaxations can be downloaded and kept.

I will guide you through the process, but we are all different so my suggestions will be just that, suggestions. You can take what you want/need, and use the tools I share in the way that works for you. There will be no sharing, unless you wish to share your thoughts.

There will be additional activities suggested for in between doing the sessions, such as forest bathing (mindful walk in nature).
